HydraGlo serum is a serum with multiple anti-oxidants and rejuvenating acids. Vitamin C is the most potent of these anti-oxidants. But, because of Vitamin C’s extreme instability it is added as a powder upon purchase to insure maximum potency at the time of purchase. Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) begins to oxidize very quickly and begins to turn yellow in color and become less potent over time. This does not mean your product is no longer effective; it just means the Vitamin C potency is decreasing. Some patients prefer the HydraGlo when it turns yellow as they can tolerate the less potent Vitamin C better than the purely unoxidized version. The weaker oxidized form also imparts a very appealing sun-kissed glow to the skin which has made HydraGlo one of our biggest sellers. Also, keep in mind that there are many other anti-oxidants and rejuvenating ingredients in the HydraGlo as well and their potency is relatively unchanged during the use of the product. There are other more stabilized forms of Vitamin C that are used in skincare but their anti-oxidant and anti-aging benefits pale in comparison to the true Vitamin C (ascorbic acid). Until these more stable forms of Vitamin C are broken down in the dermis and release pure Vitamin C there is no reaction in the skin!!!!! And all research shows that none of these more stable forms have the potency of pure Vitamin C. So, although we have to deal with the instability of Vitamin C in HydraGlo, rest assured you are getting the most potent Vitamin C available. Your skin will be proof.
